Fjords, Glaciers, and Lakes in Southern Chile and Argentina
I had seen enough photos of the Patagonia region of southern Chile and Argentina to know that it would be a future travel destination, and I finally got there in the fall of 2022. I had a wide variety of great experiences at the (almost) end of the world – cruising on the Ultima Esperanza Sound and Lago Argentino, touring the Torres del Paine and Los Glaciares National National Parks and their stunning glaciers, staying at a five-star rustic hotel that was a former cold storage plant, and visiting the tour’s “bookend” cities of Santiago and Buenos Aires. There was (of course) great food, including a wine-pairing dinner and a dinner and tango show, as well as museum visits and a gaucho “horse-whispering” demonstration.
I recommend starting at the beginning – Day 0 – Arrival in Santiago – and following along (Day 0 was the day before the tour officially started). The top menu has links to more information on Chile and Argentina travel, while the side menu has links to each day on the tour and to photo galleries comprising the best of my 850+ photos taken during my travels through Patagonia. Enjoy!
